Small doodles. Clearer stories.

Twelve symbols to try

1. Arrow: direction or a next step.
2. Lightbulb: an idea.
3. Clock: time or a deadline.
4. Cloud: uncertainty or weather.
5. Seed: a small beginning.
6. Sun: energy or growth.
7. Key: access.
8. Bridge: a connection.
9. Compass: direction.
10. Ladder: gradual progress.
11. Magnifying glass: a closer look.
12. Speech bubble: a question or conversation.

Tell a story with a cloud, seed and sun

Frame 1: a seed sits in dry soil beneath a cloud. Write “A seed needs the right conditions.” Frame 2: add rain from the cloud and draw roots. Write “Water helps it begin.” Frame 3: add sun and leaves. Write “Light supports new growth.” This is a simplified storytelling exercise; check the scientific detail if you develop it into a lesson.

Eight everyday objects as metaphors

1. A key: gaining access to information.
2. A bridge: connecting two people or ideas.
3. A compass: selecting a direction.
4. A ladder: learning one step at a time.
5. A backpack: carrying preparation or a burden.
6. A window: seeing another perspective.
7. A knot: a problem to untangle.
8. A watering can: steady care.

Make the metaphor readable

Draw the object alone first. Ask someone what it suggests before adding your explanation. A bridge does not automatically mean progress to every viewer. Captions and context should make the meaning explicit. Choose three objects and turn each into a scene about an everyday task.
